Excuses

Excuses are:

  • Your evidence that that you are right and the other person is wrong.
  • “Because” – why something can’t change.
  • The thoughts and statements that begin with “Yes, But”

Excuses allow:

  • You to deny responsibilities.
  • You to stand between truth and accountability between yourself or others.
  • You to exchange the illusion of safety for the illusion of personal power.
  • You to live in your story and stay stuck in your past.

Are you willing to see things differently?

Exercise:

Name your top three excuses.
1.
2.
3.

What are the benefits of holding on to these excuses?

What are the costs of holding on to these excuses?

If you could let go of these three excuses what would your life be like?

Congratulations! You’ve completed Assignment 2.
I acknowledge your courage and willingness.

Client Feedback:

Through Fearless Living, with Barb Hudson, I am getting to trust myself again. I am getting my “zest” for life back and the knowledge that I have the answers inside of me. It’s a joyous feeling to discover the person I was meant to be and not be ruled by other people’s judgments. Debora

"In order to make any permanent changes, you have to be willing. Willing to see things differently. Willing to experience new ideas. Willing to listen to the people who cheered you on rather than ones who echoed your fears."
